Kitty Roedel Bicycle Path Description

The Kitty Roedel Bicycle Path serves as a connector across the southern end of Doral. The paved pathway begins just north of the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) interchange with SR 985 and south of Miami International Mall. From there, the pathway heads east paralleling the expressway for 2 miles to a busy commercial area. Fencing and an expansive grassy median separates the trail from the roadway and trees line each side.

The pathway was built in 2007 and named after Kitty Roedel, a long-serving board member for MDX, a public agency that operates the Dolphin Expressway and other expressways in Miami-Dade County. She was a leading advocate for incorporating greenways into transportation improvement projects.

Parking and Trail Access

Although the trail has no dedicated parking, there is parking available in the commercial areas surrounding the trail.

Kitty Roedel Bicycle Path Reviews

very nice trail

Just back from it, very clean and peaceful. I recommend it. Only thing is the parking… we parked by international mall and crossed the street by rooms to go. The entrance is by the train tracks on 107.

Nice 4 mile trail in Doral

The trail was fun to go on. I was on foot and I enjoyed the experience of viewing different critters, plant life, and scattered infrastructure. I parked at the Mcdonalds a few blocks next to the entrance and walked back to with no issues. Its near cars but they're far enough that you don't get bothered. Its not too badly maintained, dead branches tend to fall on the path as its meant for bicycles and they don't get the opportunity to kick them aside. For those who have joint pain, the grass on the side of the asphalt path is fine to walk on for most of the trail.

best trail near me. no cars
